The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Robbie McAdam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigiusz Pisarczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robbie McAdam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Remigiusz Pisarczyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Eugeniusz Kochanowicz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ian McVey. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 18th minute, Gordon Alderson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Witold Olszewski kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 25 minutes into the game, when Cameron McVeagh put in a rough tackle. In the 33rd minute Robbie McAdam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigiusz Pisarczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gordon Alderson in the 35th minute of play forced Polonia Łaziska's goalkeeper Remigiusz Pisarczyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Smiddy Celts's Ian McVey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Smiddy Celts from getting a goal against them. Willie Dyson charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willie Dyson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 40th minute, Willie Dyson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Remigiusz Pisarczyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciaran McGill in the 44th minute of play. After 47 minutes, Wayne Grigor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Smiddy Celts and the Polonia Łaziska players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Smiddy Celts getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Wayne Grigor hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Eugeniusz Kochanowicz made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gordon Alderson in the 52nd minute of play forced Polonia Łaziska's goalkeeper Remigiusz Pisarczyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ian McVey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Banas in the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gordon Alderson in the 63rd minute of play forced Polonia Łaziska's goalkeeper Remigiusz Pisarczyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Polonia Łaziska's goalkeeper Remigiusz Pisarczyk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Polonia Łaziska's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Ciaran McGill scored to the left of an out of position Remigiusz Pisarczyk, making the score, 2-2. 76 minutes into the match, Smiddy Celts's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Banas came free, but Ian McVey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Gordon Alderson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigiusz Pisarczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ian McVey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugeniusz Kochanowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gordon Alderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Remigiusz Pisarczyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boguslaw Brytka hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gwidon Olchowy during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Polonia Łaziska getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Gwidon Olchowy hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gordon Alderson in the 93rd minute of play forced Polonia Łaziska's goalkeeper Remigiusz Pisarczyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Smiddy Celts's Ian McVey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Witold Olszewski in the 94th minute of play. After 96 minutes of play, Polonia Łaziska's Eugeniusz Kochanowicz made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ian McVey was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Smiddy Celts players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Polonia Łaziska.
