Elivélton Berger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Constantino Rodriguez made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Elivélton Berger took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Constantino Rodriguez to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elivélton Berger in the 24th minute of play forced Academia FC's goalkeeper Constantino Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hortêncio Fontes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 25th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Constantino Rodriguez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Elivélton Berger had several of the Academia FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 43 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Constantino Rodriguez as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elivélton Berger in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Constantino Rodriguez saved Academia FC from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Fausto Argider's late challenge caught a Itajaí Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Itajaí Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elivélton Berger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Itajaí Football Club fully deserved thier win.
