Anibal Txerran stood somewhat misplaced when Herald Bruynincx came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 3 minute. The supporters of lןןl La Coconeta booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cedric Van den Berge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anibal Txerran made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Thommy Pelgrims sent off a good shot on target. 19 minutes into the match, lןןl La Coconeta's Nereo Mincho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arsene De Vlaeminck narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 20 minutes, Froilan Isadore mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the lןןl La Coconeta and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 20 played minutes lןןl La Coconeta got a freekick which was hit by Froilan Isadore. After having played for 26 minutes, Haroldo Erasto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. lןןl La Coconeta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Erasto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anibal Txerran was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Herald Bruynincx capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Herald Bruynincx really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Arsene De Vlaeminck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Froilan Isadore in the 44th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herald Bruynincx made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thommy Pelgrims in the 51st minute of play forced lןןl La Coconeta's goalkeeper Anibal Txerran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 52nd minute Haroldo Erasto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arsene De Vlaeminck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute of the match Melchor Frisco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arsene De Vlaeminck showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Haroldo Erasto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anibal Txerran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joppe Vandeput in the 58th minute of play. Haroldo Erasto charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Haroldo Erasto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 72 played minutes lןןl La Coconeta got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Erasto. 75 minutes into the game, Feliciano Sotero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. lןןl La Coconeta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brugge United the free kick. After a rather tough play, lןןl La Coconeta's Feliciano Sotero got a free kick in the 75th minute. Brugge United's Herald Bruynincx got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Herald Bruynincx made a precise shot to the right of Anibal Txerran. lןןl La Coconeta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0.
