Diego Viana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Ferdinand went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, RIQUELME FC's Benedicto Rainerio got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 16th minute, one of Atlético Mineiro:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Atlético Mineiro. Bernabe Urbes's late challenge caught a Atlético Mineiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernabe Urbes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to RIQUELME FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Bernabe Urbes hit a great ball. Túlio Freitas charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Túlio Freitas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st match minute, Atlético Mineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Túlio Freitas to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to RIQUELME FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Wilfredo Justin hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabiano Mineiro got free with Bernardino Baumer in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernabe Urbes struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Diego Viana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIQUELME FC. 38 minutes into the game, Silverio Flores was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RIQUELME FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Mineiro the free kick. Silverio Flores hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Diego Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernabe Urbes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernabe Urbes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half RIQUELME FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabiano Mineiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Bernabe Urbes scored 0-4 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diego Viana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Diego Viana was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bernabe Urbes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 66 minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Celedonio Goito came free, but Diego Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Atlético Mineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilson Barreto to maneuver through the defense. Diego Viana was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Celedonio Goito. Diego Viana was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bernabe Urbes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 85 minute of play. After 94 played minutes Atlético Mineiro got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Mineiro. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. RIQUELME FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
