Micael Castelao was a little too slow when Leonardo Rosado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-0. Frodo Acarreta struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Ruy Arce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Club Celta de Vigo. Micael Castelao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 25th minute, Gustavo Monteiro sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Real Club Celta de Vigo's Micael Castelao didn't even have to move. Pedro Luís Saldanha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Pedro Luís Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th match minute, Real Club Celta de Vigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calvino Ponte to maneuver through the defense. After 41 played minutes Mundial EC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luís Saldanha. Frodo Acarreta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anselmo Sampaio to make the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mundial EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! Ruy Arce made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frodo Acarreta in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Rosado in the 62nd minute of play forced Real Club Celta de Vigo's goalkeeper Micael Castelao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Beremundo Herrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute Chicão de Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Micael Castelao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mundial EC's Pedro Luís Saldanha got a free kick in the 70th minute. Frodo Acarreta struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Micael Castelao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Rosado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Chicão de Brito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Micael Castelao was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 84th minute, Orti Machado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruy Arce was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Leonardo Rosado took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Micael Castelao. Micael Castelao dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After a defensive mix-up in Mundial EC's zone, Ray Marrero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruy Arce came out of the goal and Ray Marrero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mundial EC had played much better football throughout.
