Johnnie Gould blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Osmar Garcia having to make a save. The attack was good, but when Cristopher Saenz in the 14th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Osmar Garcia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristopher Saenz's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. If Cristopher Saenz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 minutes, Cristopher Saenz made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. POPULAR F.C's Osmar Garcia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Brooklyn SC's Arnoldo Escobedo got control of the ball when João Pedro Mattos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The referee ignored Brooklyn SC's protests and gave Aaron Gunn a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Diniz in the 94th minute of play forced Brooklyn SC's goalkeeper Arnoldo Escobedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Brooklyn SC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than POPULAR F.C.
