In the 4th match minute, POPULAR F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laércio Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. Márton Gombos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute of the match POPULAR F.C got a corner. Sporting Savaria's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Frank de Barros ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led POPULAR F.C's Frank de Barros to fire away a dangerous shot which Márton Gombos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tamás Lányi got free with Júlio Sergipano in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, POPULAR F.C's Laércio Nascimento got a free kick in the 14th minute. Laércio Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Júlio Sergipano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tamás Lányi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute Tamás Lányi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laércio Nascimento hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Tamás Lányi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Savaria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Tamás Lányi might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio Sergipano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Júlio Sergipano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tamás Lányi in the 36th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the game, POPULAR F.C's João Pedro Mattos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Márton Gombos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dávid Núñez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. POPULAR F.C's Júlio Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dávid Núñez in the 52nd minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Tamás Lányi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Júlio Sergipano. POPULAR F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tamás Lányi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After a rather tough play, POPULAR F.C's Ramiro Prestes got a free kick in the 64th minute. 67 minutes into the match, POPULAR F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Tamás Lányi came free, but Júlio Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tamás Lányi came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Sporting Savaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tamás Lányi couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute, Dávid Núñez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Alex Szatmári fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Savaria's protests and gave Alex Szatmári a yellow card for diving instead. When Frank de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the POPULAR F.C fans jumped to their feet. Sporting Savaria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave POPULAR F.C the free kick. But to his dismay, Lázár Szőnyi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 96th minute Dávid Núñez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting Savaria walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
