The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sebastião Brito to strike the kick off in the second half. Márton Gombos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Prestes in the 83rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in POPULAR F.C's zone, Tamás Lányi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Sergipano came out of the goal and Tamás Lányi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd match minute, POPULAR F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. If Tamás Lányi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tamás Lányi got free with Júlio Sergipano in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sporting Savaria walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
