After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Placido Richie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Black Rose 1979's supporters rose to their feet, but Placido Richie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Tibalt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 9 minutes into the match, Black Rose 1979's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Joachim came free, but Desiderio Alvarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 24 minutes, Esteban Amato managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dorados FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esteban Amato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jaime Tibalt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Malvin in the 36th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Malvin in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaime Tibalt saved Dorados FC from getting behind. If Placido Richie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Placido Richie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Black Rose 1979's supporters crossed their fingers, but Placido Richie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Feliberto Gonza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlos Malvin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Dorados FC's Celedonio Baleren got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Black Rose 1979 booed when Dorados FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Amato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Placido Richie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Jaime Tibalt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Dorados FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Feliberto Gonza hit a great ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dorados FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
