Zarando Cordoba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgilio Marcilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Goiz Calvo charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Goiz Calvo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, PERSPOLIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Goiz Calvo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in PERSPOLIS's zone, Zarando Cordoba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgilio Marcilla came out of the goal and Zarando Cordoba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Ciruel Team getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Benito Cuadrado hit a great ball. The supporters of Ciruel Team booed when PERSPOLIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Asteri Vazquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Zarando Cordoba in the 14th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Virgilio Marcilla kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zarando Cordoba in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgilio Marcilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Ciruel Team booed when PERSPOLIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurino Acedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Sigfrido Soldado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virgilio Marcilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 22nd match minute, PERSPOLIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Goiz Calvo to maneuver through the defense. Virgilio Marcilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zarando Cordoba in the 23rd minute of play. Virgilio Marcilla came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Ciruel Team's Zarando Cordoba. But to his dismay, Zarando Cordoba quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If Crispin Klander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgilio Marcilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bahiano Gibert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 43 in the game by Zarando Cordoba from a close distance when the talented Virgilio Marcilla managed to make a qualified save. PERSPOLIS's players were relieved. Pedro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donatello Incera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zarando Cordoba was the one to do the kick off. Virgilio Marcilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zarando Cordoba, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Rufo Azofra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ciruel Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Rufo Azofra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgilio Marcilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Virgilio Marcilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zarando Cordoba's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Zarando Cordoba sped through PERSPOLIS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Virgilio Marcilla. Benito Cuadrado kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Virgilio Marcilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zarando Cordoba in the 69th minute of play. In the 69th match minute, PERSPOLIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donatello Incera to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the game, Zarando Cordoba cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Virgilio Marcilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zarando Cordoba in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgilio Marcilla saved PERSPOLIS from getting behind. Virgilio Marcilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zarando Cordoba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Goiz Calvo hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Ciruel Team's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Donatello Incera scored to the left of an out of position Pedro Navarro, making the score, 4-2. Zarando Cordoba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Marcilla having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ciruel Team fans cheered their team off the field, for while PERSPOLIS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
