After some careless play in the America De Cali defense, Mario Alberto Bassenge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rexino Arevalo. The America De Cali fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rexino Arevalo should have stopped the shot. Delmiro Noé showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlondon Lando in the 22nd minute of the match. A collision led to Lautaro L.P. getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Mario Alberto Bassenge hit a great ball. Rexino Arevalo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caupolicán Rufo in the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute Caupolicán Rufo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rexino Arevalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rexino Arevalo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caupolicán Rufo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 35th minute, Caupolicán Rufo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rexino Arevalo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. America De Cali's Rexino Arevalo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caupolicán Rufo in the 38th minute of play. After 40 minutes of play, Lautaro L.P.'s Doctor Arteche made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rexino Arevalo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 44th minute, Jose Esteban Manosalva made a precise shot to the right of Rexino Arevalo. America De Cali's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5.

52 minutes into the match, America De Cali's goal looked a bit too open when Caupolicán Rufo came free, but Rexino Arevalo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doctor Arteche during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Lautaro L.P. booed when America De Cali was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlondon Lando didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute Doctor Arteche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rexino Arevalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Caupolicán Rufo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rexino Arevalo was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Rexino Arevalo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jose Esteban Manosalva in the 92nd minute. Lautaro L.P. played a much better game than America De Cali and deserved their victory. The America De Cali players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
