An unexpectedly hard shot by Darley Worsley in the 15th minute of play forced Gyál United's goalkeeper Mihály Földesi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Darley Worsley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Mihály Földesi made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Barnard Meyers got free with Mihály Földesi in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Darley Worsley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihály Földesi having to interfere. Darley Worsley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Mihály Földesi made a huge save. A collision led to Frenchville Sports Club getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Brendan Gannan hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Gyál United's Csaba Lisztes got a free kick in the 39th minute. Davey Rhoades kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Brendan Gannan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mihály Földesi. That made the score 2-0 in the 45 minute of play.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Barnard Meyers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Darley Worsley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihály Földesi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes into the game, Csaba Kossuth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mihály Földesi came out of the goal and Barnard Meyers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eddie Sparrow made an important save on a dangerous shot by Csaba Kossuth in the 92nd minute. After 92 played minutes Frenchville Sports Club got a freekick which was hit by Davey Rhoades. Isaac Mcmanamny's late challenge caught a Gyál United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaac Mcmanamny helped the player get up and apologised.
