After 6 played minutes Club Universidad Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Diego Sanson. Agustin Irrintzi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Fernando Abarca made a huge save. After having played for 12 minutes, Celso Berart managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Berart was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Club Universidad Nacional getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Lorenzo Aimar hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Club Universidad Nacional's Conrado Venceslao got a free kick in the 17th minute. Lorenzo Aimar might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julian Librado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lorenzo Aimar ran back to his position shaking his head. Inocencio Bernabel charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Inocencio Bernabel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 21 played minutes Club Universidad Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Inocencio Bernabel. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, Fernando Abarca successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 25 minutes into the match, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Sanson came free, but Julian Librado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Abarca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurelio Primo in the 29th minute. Aurelio Primo kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 35th match minute, Los Hijos de Doña Beija was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Esquipula to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Lorenzo Aimar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julian Librado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The Los Hijos de Doña Beija players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Club Universidad Nacional were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agustin Irrintzi made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Club Universidad Nacional were awarded a corner. Epifanio Velasco went to the cornerflag to take it. Epifanio Velasco made a great header on Club Universidad Nacional's corner, it was just that Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Julian Librado managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 60th minute Agustin Irrintzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Jonatan Su left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Hijos de Doña Beija fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After 94 minutes of play, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Jonatan Su made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernando Abarca was left in no man's land by his defense there!
