In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Śląsk Bytom. Przemyslaw Madajczyk stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Carlos Manuel Goyeneche. 1-1. Hermengildo Suero hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Plebeyos defense, Klement Awizo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Manuel Goyeneche. The Plebeyos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Manuel Goyeneche should have stopped the shot. Leandro Seme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zachariasz Gongolewicz having to interfere. Atilano Perrando's late challenge caught a Śląsk Bytom's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Moises Escobar fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Roch Betonowy scored 6-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Manuel Goyeneche, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
