Geale Lyle was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Teobaldo Orellana. With a little luck, De Ontembare Leeuwen's Geale Lyle got control of the ball when Marcos Francisco Campbell tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Tabalongo AFC booed when De Ontembare Leeuwen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Kuypers didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reyes Cuadra got free with Geale Lyle in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcos Francisco Campbell was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Tabalongo AFC booed when De Ontembare Leeuwen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dries Zevenhuizen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geale Lyle came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Tabalongo AFC's Marcos Francisco Campbell. But to his dismay, Marcos Francisco Campbell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Reyes Cuadra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geale Lyle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, De Ontembare Leeuwen's goal looked a bit too open when Feliberto Paillalef came free, but Geale Lyle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tabalongo AFC reached it. Joep Oost's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruyman Amenábar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Marcos Francisco Campbell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. De Ontembare Leeuwen's Geale Lyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Orden in the 74th minute of play. Feliberto Paillalef's late challenge caught a De Ontembare Leeuwen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Feliberto Paillalef helped the player get up and apologised. If Marcos Francisco Campbell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. De Ontembare Leeuwen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
