Anacleto Sedeni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Onofre having to interfere. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Agustín Sande got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hector Ignatius might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Onofre. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hector Ignatius ran back to his position shaking his head. Boquenses's Leonardo Onofre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Ignatius in the 17th minute of play. Agustín Brei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carmelo Frances, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Boquenses's Leonardo Onofre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Ignatius in the 27th minute of play. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Hector Ignatius got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute of the match, Pedro Oihenarte tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Agustín Brei saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Luisito Ciceron hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Agustín Brei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Oihenarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carmelo Frances stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leonardo Onofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Ignatius, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 60th minute, Hector Ignatius made a precise shot to the right of Leonardo Onofre. Boquenses's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Hector Ignatius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute Hector Ignatius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Onofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Brei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Oihenarte in the 72nd minute of play. In the 87th minute of the game Artemio Iruinea made a throw-in which Pedro Oihenarte played forward. The supporters of ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ booed when Boquenses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Iruinea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonardo Onofre made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Hector Ignatius sent off a good shot on target.
