The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Georg Austmann kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Petter Rykov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Soares in the 6th minute of the match. Knut Huneck took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio Taffarel. Cláudio Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some careless play in the TAQUARI FC defense, Knut Huneck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cláudio Taffarel. The TAQUARI FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cláudio Taffarel should have stopped the shot. Moritz Illio scored 0-3 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cláudio Taffarel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, José Carlos Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. TAQUARI FC's Cláudio Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otto Højskel in the 26th minute of play. When René Gotland came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Randkleve fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that René Gotland couldn't finish the play. When Randkleve's Otto Højskel in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye TAQUARI FC's goalie prevented a goal. 36 minutes into the match, Otto Højskel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cláudio Taffarel. TAQUARI FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otto Højskel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Otto Højskel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Eduardo Teixeira to make the kick off. TAQUARI FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Otto Højskel scored to the left of an out of position Cláudio Taffarel, making the score, 0-5. Cláudio Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otto Højskel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute Randkleve were awarded a corner. Georg Austmann went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Randkleve's Georg Austmann to fire away a dangerous shot which Cláudio Taffarel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Knut Huneck came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Randkleve fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Knut Huneck couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Knut Huneck in the 70th minute of play forced TAQUARI FC's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Randkleve booed when TAQUARI FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Otto Højskel notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of TAQUARI FC's Cláudio Taffarel. Cláudio Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 79 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Knut Huneck came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Knut Huneck came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Randkleve fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Knut Huneck couldn't finish the play. Asgar Hasbek's late challenge caught a TAQUARI FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Asgar Hasbek helped the player get up and apologised. Asgar Hasbek kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. With a little luck, TAQUARI FC's Cláudio Taffarel got control of the ball when Moritz Illio tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th play minute Otto Højskel came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cláudio Taffarel. 0-8. A collision led to Randkleve getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Al Thorbek hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the game, Sonny Aae was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Randkleve's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave TAQUARI FC the free kick. The TAQUARI FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Randkleve were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
