Juan Natal came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Hertha 1969's Dante Jakob. But to his dismay, Dante Jakob quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 16th match minute, The Cavern Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosme Sidro to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Sascha Meinhardt notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of The Cavern Club's Juan Natal. Juan Natal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Tomás Iturri managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Cavern Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Iturri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erich Pietta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sascha Meinhardt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Natal having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, The Cavern Club's goalkeeper Juan Natal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lothar Bannert. 47 minutes into the match, The Cavern Club's goalkeeper Juan Natal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lutz Ertel. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lutz Ertel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Cavern Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Ladislao Sazon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erich Pietta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jörn Achleitner during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lorenzo Flor was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 79 minutes into the match. The supporters of Hertha 1969 booed when The Cavern Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Flor didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the The Cavern Club players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hertha 1969.
