Murilo Peixoto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 7 minutes, Aníbal Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Várzea F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Aníbal Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Seth Renwick hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Joaquim Marques struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Edward Preston didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Várzea F.C.. Adhemar Ribeiro hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. A collision led to Egg Chasers FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Seth Shaw hit a great ball. Edward Preston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ademar Mendes took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edward Preston. Edward Preston dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jay Palmer hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Murilo Peixoto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bradley Blueman.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim Marques to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Bradley Blueman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes, Joaquim Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Várzea F.C. and the Egg Chasers FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Joaquim Marques hit a great ball. Joaquim Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademar Mendes in the 73rd minute of play forced Egg Chasers FC's goalkeeper Edward Preston to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Don Major came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Egg Chasers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Don Major couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Várzea F.C.'s Rubinho Queirós got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 84th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal Paes to maneuver through the defense. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
