But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedito Mineiro couldn't finish the play. Aron Dahlbom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedrinho Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pete Sampras in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 28th match minute, MAFFIAN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Säfström to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Umberto Dionísio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aron Dahlbom was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Aron Dahlbom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anísio Alagoano in the 32nd minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Umberto Dionísio was the one to do the kick off. Pedrinho Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Wilander in the 51st minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 52nd minute by Pete Sampras got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 56 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Nilson Veloso. MAFFIAN's Östen Vennersten was substituted for Börje Frisk. Mats Wilander took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedrinho Guimarães. Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 59 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Benedito Mineiro. Aron Dahlbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Umberto Dionísio in the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Pete Sampras came free, but Pedrinho Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 64 minutes of play, MAFFIAN's Andre Agassi made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedrinho Guimarães was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 70th minute, Mats Wilander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mauro Sarmento during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento got a free kick in the 77th minute. The supporters of MAFFIAN booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute of the match Nilson Veloso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aron Dahlbom showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pete Sampras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Guimarães having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro SC's Clemente Cardozo got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 88th minute, Rasmus Kilberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aron Dahlbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Serafim Cearense hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães got control of the ball when Pete Sampras tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
