Dorival Travassos came out of the goal and Umberto Dionísio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Anísio Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Benedito Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Benedito Mineiro hit a great ball. Pedrinho Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronald Mc Donald in the 29th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Umberto Dionísio got free with Dorival Travassos in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute, Ronald Mc Donald ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedrinho Guimarães was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Anísio Alagoano charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anísio Alagoano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 45 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Alagoano. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Nilson Veloso hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Umberto Dionísio was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho Seco. The audience was convinced that Xande Xande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedrinho Guimarães was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Edinho Pirani hit a great ball. Dorival Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Sarmento in the 65th minute of the match. Pedrinho Guimarães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Douglas Douglas's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. After 73 minutes, Mauro Sarmento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castanheiro SC and the Átomo F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Átomo F.C. booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Sarmento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedrinho Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronald Mc Donald in the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Átomo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Rossi didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ronald Mc Donald came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Átomo F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronald Mc Donald couldn't finish the play. When Didi Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Átomo F.C.'s protests and gave Didi Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd match minute, Átomo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Rossi to maneuver through the defense. Pedrinho Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Mc Donald in the 89th minute of play. Dorival Travassos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Dionísio's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. The Átomo F.C. players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
