Spectators: 8150 (Terracing: 6113, Seating: 1874, VIP seats: 163) Castanheiro SC's Umberto Dionísio started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pedrinho Guimarães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matheus Quirino in the 3rd minute. 11 minutes into the game, one of Castanheiro SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Castanheiro SC:s Pedrinho Guimarães showed great skill when he stopped Flaco López:s penalty. 16 minutes into the game, Castanheiro SC's Anísio Alagoano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Võ Gozali made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 24 minutes of play, Castanheiro SC's Benedito Mineiro made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Võ Gozali was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benedito Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Võ Gozali having to interfere. Castanheiro SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Flaco López scored to the left of an out of position Pedrinho Guimarães, making the score, 1-2. In the 41st match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisinho Seco to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when JFSP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurinho Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Võ Gozali took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pietro Sales stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Võ Gozali showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 55 minutes into the game, Anísio Alagoano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Võ Gozali was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio Alagoano in the 63rd minute of play forced JFSP's goalkeeper Võ Gozali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Castanheiro SC made a substitution. Mauro Sarmento replaced Anísio Alagoano. When Pietro Sales fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored JFSP's protests and gave Pietro Sales a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 played minutes JFSP got a freekick which was hit by Pietro Sales. If Marcelo Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, JFSP's Võ Gozali got control of the ball when Mauro Sarmento tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maurinho Varela during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th match minute, JFSP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurinho Varela to maneuver through the defense. Pedrinho Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flaco López in the 79th minute of play. Denílson Massa hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Castanheiro SC's Benedito Mineiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. Marcelo Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of JFSP booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umberto Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedrinho Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flaco López in the 95th minute of play. Benedito Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Võ Gozali having to interfere. Castanheiro SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
