But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristofer Sievers couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Stig-Arne Skålberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute Pete Sampras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wictor Bregenhus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rikardt Halvgaard in the 11th minute of play forced MAFFIAN's goalkeeper Aron Dahlbom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pete Sampras in the 16th minute of play forced Injuries's goalkeeper Wictor Bregenhus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wictor Bregenhus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andre Agassi in the 22nd minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Vincent Linberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wictor Bregenhus. Injuries's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vincent Linberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 37 minutes of play, MAFFIAN's Pete Sampras made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wictor Bregenhus was left in no man's land by his defense there! Östen Vennersten was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 42 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Sean Farcinsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Aron Dahlbom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rikardt Halvgaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
