Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedicto Atarratze in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Beniamin Sakowicz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mitch Lauwers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Osmundo, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Giorgos Charisteas in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute of the match, Hector Osmundo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mitch Lauwers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 27 minutes of play, Selebi-Phikwe's Benedicto Atarratze made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Beniamin Sakowicz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Beniamin Sakowicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benedicto Atarratze went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. If Benedicto Atarratze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 44 played minutes GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW got a freekick which was hit by Mariusz Niemoj. Beniamin Sakowicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Atarratze in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giorgos Charisteas to strike the kick off in the second half. Beniamin Sakowicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubinho de Castro in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd minute Selebi-Phikwe were awarded a corner. Abid Bubalo went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Abid Bubalo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Beniamin Sakowicz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Stasio Bienienda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mitch Lauwers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariusz Niemoj, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Benedicto Atarratze could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Beniamin Sakowicz made a huge save. The supporters of Selebi-Phikwe booed when GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugeniusz Wallach didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giorgos Charisteas in the 74th minute of play forced Selebi-Phikwe's goalkeeper Mitch Lauwers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Selebi-Phikwe's Rein Lombaert got a free kick in the 76th minute. Rein Lombaert hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Mitch Lauwers came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW's Giorgos Charisteas. But to his dismay, Giorgos Charisteas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. After 84 played minutes Selebi-Phikwe got a freekick which was hit by Rein Lombaert. 90 minutes into the match, Selebi-Phikwe's goal looked a bit too open when Giorgos Charisteas came free, but Mitch Lauwers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafik Oliwa hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Mitch Lauwers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giorgos Charisteas, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Selebi-Phikwe to win.
