Alejo Galoer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hercule Couret having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Tito Gilabert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th minute of the match, Ovidio Pello got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cláudio Taffarel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cláudio Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daryl Cottineau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Racing Club【LBF】's Cláudio Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club【LBF】 from getting a goal against them. After 31 minutes of play, Racing Club【LBF】's Alfredo Rossi made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hercule Couret was left in no man's land by his defense there! 40 minutes into the match, Racing Club【LBF】's goal looked a bit too open when Daryl Cottineau came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lyon 69ers's Tom Beaune got a free kick in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Rossi made a kick off. Alfredo Rossi had several of the Lyon 69ers's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 74 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Hercule Couret as he didn't even see the shot coming. Lyon 69ers's Hercule Couret played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Rossi in the 78th minute of play. Manuel Marchidan hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the match, Severino Jatsu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hercule Couret. Lyon 69ers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severino Jatsu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Daryl Cottineau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Racing Club【LBF】 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
