After 22 minutes, Gustavo Berenguer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ⲨⲀⲚⲀ and the Montevideo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, ⲨⲀⲚⲀ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Berenguer to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the game, Severino Manilan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ⲨⲀⲚⲀ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montevideo the free kick. A collision led to ⲨⲀⲚⲀ getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Severino Manilan hit a great ball. After 25 minutes, Laerte Lucas made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. ⲨⲀⲚⲀ's Geronimo Abeijon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eulalio Abilio in the 28th minute of play. Geronimo Abeijon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandão Recife in the 33rd minute of the match. Montevideo:s Ronaldo Medeiros showed great skill when he stopped Gustavo Furtado:s penalty. After 43 played minutes ⲨⲀⲚⲀ got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Patrido. Ronaldo Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Kauldi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Montevideo's Olavo Matorin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Geronimo Abeijon. That made the score 3-0 after 47 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olavo Matorin to make the kick off. Geronimo Abeijon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Passos in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute Eulalio Abilio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geronimo Abeijon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olavo Matorin in the 56th minute of play. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Montevideo from getting a goal against them. Geronimo Abeijon came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Montevideo's Fernandão Recife. But to his dismay, Fernandão Recife quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. If Enzo Toro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ⲨⲀⲚⲀ's Marco Roldan was substituted for Gustavo Berenguer. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olavo Matorin in the 79th minute of play forced ⲨⲀⲚⲀ's goalkeeper Geronimo Abeijon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Fernandão Recife had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geronimo Abeijon. ⲨⲀⲚⲀ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernandão Recife was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 89 minutes into the game, Olavo Matorin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, Ronaldo Medeiros successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
