Claudinho Cearense really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in BOA VISTA E.C.'s zone, Vincent Frankena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio Varela came out of the goal and Vincent Frankena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, BOA VISTA E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Frankena came free, but Célio Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Célio Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Benítez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Célio Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Frankena, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Barry Benítez charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Barry Benítez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arlindo Vander was the one to do the kick off. Célio Varela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vincent Frankena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Célio Varela made a huge save.
