Yala's Zeledon Curcio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Yala from getting a goal against them. 25 minutes into the match, Al-Norr's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Valentine came free, but Mårten Ekström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mårten Ekström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carolo Bizen in the 28th minute of play. Paulino Mendez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Zeledon Curcio made a huge save. Yala's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Paulino Mendez scored to the left of an out of position Zeledon Curcio, making the score, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Valentine in the 36th minute of play forced Al-Norr's goalkeeper Mårten Ekström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulino Mendez got free with Zeledon Curcio in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dimitris Kolleris stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 91 minutes, Björn Rönn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Al-Norr's supporters crossed their fingers, but Björn Rönn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Al-Norr had played much better football throughout.
