Constantino Salgado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Coelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute Ekialde Nadal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute Bela Herrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Shabeb Al Dowaisan kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Ramón Valadares struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Dean Grieve didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xurupita FC. 23 minutes into the match, Xurupita FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ekialde Nadal came free, but Gustavo Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PERSPOLIS's Dean Grieve played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emerson Jacaré in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute Emerson Jacaré shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Grieve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Cipriano Ganix cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gustavo Coelho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36th minute Ekialde Nadal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cipriano Ganix might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustavo Coelho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cipriano Ganix ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 41st minute, Axel Uplegger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the match, PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Dean Grieve had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramón Valadares. With a little luck, PERSPOLIS's Dean Grieve got control of the ball when Ramón Valadares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cipriano Ganix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cipriano Ganix stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dean Grieve made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón Valadares in the 54th minute of play. Dean Grieve came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Xurupita FC's Ramón Valadares. But to his dismay, Ramón Valadares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Gustavo Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Ganix in the 60th minute of the match. Bela Herrero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo Coelho having to make a save. Albertinho de Amaral scored 2-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dean Grieve, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. PERSPOLIS made a substitution. Facundo Feria replaced Cipriano Ganix. Xurupita FC made a substitution. Valer Muscaș replaced Rubinho Maia. A collision led to PERSPOLIS getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Axel Uplegger hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the match, Xurupita FC's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Feria came free, but Gustavo Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77thth minute of the game Bela Herrero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xurupita FC's Gustavo Coelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Xurupita FC made a substitution. Lilian Vântu replaced Ramón Valadares. Facundo Feria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo Coelho having to make a save. Albertinho de Amaral hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emiliano Quintero got free with Gustavo Coelho in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Bela Herrero managed to get in a good position for a shot. PERSPOLIS's supporters rose to their feet, but Bela Herrero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Xurupita FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Rowley McJon hit a great ball. Gustavo Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Quintero in the 92nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lilian Vântu in the 93rd minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Dean Grieve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
