In the 30th minute Nacional Potosí were awarded a corner. Itzaina Abastas went to the cornerflag to take it. Nacional Potosí's Itzaina Abastas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roy Holman in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Nacional Potosí's Itzaina Abastas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Mountain West FC. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Wyatt Jeffers made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Nacional Potosí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lionel Beets to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Mountain West FC's Eddy Sheehan got a free kick in the 55th minute. Roy Holman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Abello in the 58th minute. The Nacional Potosí fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeremy Blomme should have stopped the shot. Mountain West FC made a substitution. Carson Fujieda replaced Angelo Dumas. Jeremy Blomme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leif Donaldson in the 88th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carson Fujieda in the 92nd minute of play forced Nacional Potosí's goalkeeper Jeremy Blomme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carson Fujieda took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jeremy Blomme. Jeremy Blomme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3.
