Sarmiento de Resistencia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave independiente the free kick. In the 15th minute Ximenes Castilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Elizardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sarmiento de Resistencia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arsenio Rito was slow to take the kick. During this time independiente's players had a chance to rest. The corner led independiente's Ainar Põld to fire away a dangerous shot which Tobias Elizardo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sören Bengtsson in the 18th minute of play forced Sarmiento de Resistencia's goalkeeper Tobias Elizardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rdth minute of the game Sören Bengtsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sarmiento de Resistencia's Tobias Elizardo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of independiente booed when Sarmiento de Resistencia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Leguizamón didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Sarmiento de Resistencia's Romulo Sarmiento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pepe Santoro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tobias Elizardo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sarmiento de Resistencia were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after independiente's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Romulo Sarmiento took the corner. Romulo Sarmiento made a great header on Sarmiento de Resistencia's corner, it was just that independiente's Pepe Santoro managed to reach the ball for a save. Ximenes Castilla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tobias Elizardo came out and tried to block the shot, but Ximenes Castilla slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 54th minute. In the 58th minute Ximenes Castilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Elizardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sören Bengtsson kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Sarmiento de Resistencia's Tobias Elizardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sören Bengtsson in the 60th minute of play. Romulo Sarmiento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute Ximenes Castilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Elizardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sarmiento de Resistencia's Tobias Elizardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sören Bengtsson in the 68th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Tobias Elizardo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tobias Elizardo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 87 minutes into the match, Sarmiento de Resistencia's goalkeeper Tobias Elizardo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sören Bengtsson.
