The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karol Czempa hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. If Benedito de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dé Sensø kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Progresul Pitesti defense, Benedito de Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Tudor. The Progresul Pitesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Tudor should have stopped the shot. In the 19th minute, Timoteo Dalmau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of DONPATO booed when Progresul Pitesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mincho Stoev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boyde Palmington kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes Progresul Pitesti got a freekick which was hit by Mincho Stoev. Manuel Cordarin, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Progresul Pitesti's goalkeeper Martin Tudor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 32 minutes Progresul Pitesti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Manuel Cordarin who took care of the corner kick. DONPATO's Manuel Cordarin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Martin Tudor in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 40 minutes into the match, DONPATO's goal looked a bit too open when Chorache Tofiño came free, but Alkan Soysaltürk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to DONPATO getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Benedito de Sousa hit a great ball. After 44 played minutes Progresul Pitesti got a freekick which was hit by Mincho Stoev. If Benedito de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flavius Nisipeanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute Chorache Tofiño shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alkan Soysaltürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Benedito de Sousa notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Progresul Pitesti's Martin Tudor. Martin Tudor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Benedito de Sousa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martin Tudor having to make a save. Martin Tudor was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Benedito de Sousa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benedito de Sousa really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Benedito de Sousa sped through Progresul Pitesti's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Martin Tudor.
