The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If José Serrizuela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. Jacinto Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximino Errapel in the 18th minute of the match. In the 18th play minute Maximino Errapel came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jacinto Nicholas. 1-0. A hard shot by Maximino Errapel from long distance, 21 minutes into the match, got Jacinto Nicholas's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Jacinto Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximino Errapel in the 23rd minute of play. After 26 played minutes Saint Etienne FC got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Cristofor. Claudio Normando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Viator, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute José Serrizuela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Normando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Serrizuela in the 33rd minute of play forced Saint Etienne FC's goalkeeper Claudio Normando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Serrizuela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Claudio Normando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacinto Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Marz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
