The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Kunze got free with Cássio da Mata in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cássio da Mata stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Kunze's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Manaus FC's zone, Kasper Krankl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cássio da Mata came out of the goal and Kasper Krankl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manaus FC's Cássio da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Kunze in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Frank Kunze cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cássio da Mata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 19 minutes of play, Royal Excel Mouscron's Ysmael Wanne made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cássio da Mata was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cássio da Mata was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Frank Kunze capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Frank Kunze really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Frank Kunze kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cássio da Mata. That made the score 5-0 in the 25 minute of play. Pär Wallmark could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Cássio da Mata made a huge save. The supporters of Royal Excel Mouscron booed when Manaus FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yunus Emre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cássio da Mata stood somewhat misplaced when Kasper Krankl came free in front of goal and shot 6-0 to the left of him in the 31 minute. Frank Kunze received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cássio da Mata came out and tried to block the shot, but Frank Kunze slotted it home off the left post making it 7-0 in the 34th minute. Leo Granström hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Cássio da Mata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Kunze in the 38th minute of the match. Ysmael Wanne's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Cássio da Mata skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 41st minute, Royal Excel Mouscron's Lenílson Antunes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 8-0. Kevin Murray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio da Mata having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 9-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicolas Travassos made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Manaus FC's zone, Ysmael Wanne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cássio da Mata came out of the goal and Ysmael Wanne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cássio da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kasper Krankl, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute, Kasper Krankl made a precise shot to the right of Cássio da Mata. Manaus FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 10-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Kunze in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cássio da Mata saved Manaus FC from getting behind. 64 minutes into the match, Kevin Murray had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cássio da Mata. Manaus FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kevin Murray was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. 67 minutes into the match, Kevin Murray had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cássio da Mata. After 73 minutes, Lenílson Antunes made it 13-0 with a short kick to the right side. Manaus FC's Cássio da Mata tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cássio da Mata didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lenílson Antunes went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 14-0 was the resulting score. In the 80thth minute of the game Frank Kunze who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manaus FC's Cássio da Mata was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cássio da Mata came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Royal Excel Mouscron's Lenílson Antunes. But to his dismay, Lenílson Antunes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 15-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ysmael Wanne in the 84th minute of play forced Manaus FC's goalkeeper Cássio da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Ysmael Wanne notched a goal, 16-0, to the right of Manaus FC's Cássio da Mata. Cássio da Mata was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cássio da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenílson Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Royal Excel Mouscron's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
