Reko Nybacka dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Yıldıray Akaltan made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Walmir Pombal sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Catugi FC's Yıldıray Akaltan threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Alberto Soares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd rose to their feet as Catugi FC's Carlos Alberto Soares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yıldıray Akaltan. That made the score 1-1 after 8 minutes of play. Catugi FC's Reko Nybacka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Torres in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to Quemeros getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Alberto Gonchan hit a great ball. Reko Nybacka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesus Itzaina, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Edson Couto got a free kick in the 37th minute. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Tristan Lenaerts hit a great ball. Reko Nybacka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesus Itzaina in the 43rd minute of the match. Jesus Itzaina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Alberto Soares was the one to do the kick off. Catugi FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vicente Valladares in the 53rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Vicente Valladares got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Yıldıray Akaltan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 54th minute Ramiro Enrique shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reko Nybacka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ramiro Enrique's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reko Nybacka was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Reko Nybacka made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antonio Alzamendi in the 60th minute. In the 77thth minute of the game Jesus Itzaina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catugi FC's Reko Nybacka was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 80th minute Walmir Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yıldıray Akaltan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Soares in the 82nd minute of play forced Quemeros's goalkeeper Yıldıray Akaltan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th match minute, Quemeros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Gonchan to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Quemeros's zone, Walmir Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yıldıray Akaltan came out of the goal and Walmir Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yıldıray Akaltan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmir Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Catugi FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Quemeros were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
