Mariano Quinteros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrik Sikström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 17thth minute of the game Mariano Quinteros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Seterma Tractors's Patrik Sikström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Mariano Quinteros fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PI FC's protests and gave Mariano Quinteros a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, Mariano Quinteros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ademir Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Romulo Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romulo Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademir Tande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Mariano Quinteros managed to get in a good position for a shot. PI FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Quinteros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrik Sikström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. PI FC's Romulo Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademir Tande in the 44th minute of play. Romulo Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton de Queirós in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Mariano Quinteros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilton de Queirós couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute PI FC were awarded a corner. Filomeno Juvenal went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Seterma Tractors's goalie and right to Gaspar Luke. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Seterma Tractors's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademir Tande in the 62nd minute of play forced PI FC's goalkeeper Romulo Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, PI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ademir Tande came free, but Romulo Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute Israel Bittor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrik Sikström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ademir Tande in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romulo Arce saved PI FC from getting behind. In the 92nd minute of the game Edgardo Bauza made a throw-in which Enéas de Toledo played forward. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. PI FC had won after a very even match.
