The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Bartolo Idacio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Independiente fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Independiente's Segundo Rocca looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Cícero Palmeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Segundo Rocca, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xu Wei Kun in the 23rd minute of play forced Emeryt Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Cícero Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes in the game, Xu Wei Kun dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Emeryt Sosnowiec's Cícero Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segundo Rocca in the 32nd minute of play. Leonides Ihazintu made in the 37th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Emeryt Sosnowiec's Milosz Dubilas. Segundo Rocca struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Cícero Palmeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. The supporters of Independiente booed when Emeryt Sosnowiec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Ciemiega didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute Xu Wei Kun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
