Marcus Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Flavio Peter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Flavio Peter got control of the ball when Ruy de Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's zone, Ruy de Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Peter came out of the goal and Ruy de Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jovens Democratas MZC's Elano Loureiro pulled a muscle in his leg after 15 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 15 minutes into the game, Jiang Lang Kun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jovens Democratas MZC the free kick. Jiang Lang Kun hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's Leonardo Guerra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavio Peter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Horia Voitiş recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when Batalionul U23 Dorobanti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulisses Doro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Korneliusz Barna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dalmo Saldanha having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's zone, Duda Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Peter came out of the goal and Duda Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ignacio Gotzon hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After 41 minutes of play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Marcus Paes made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavio Peter was left in no man's land by his defense there! 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jovens Democratas MZC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mugur Bejan was slow to take the kick. During this time Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's players had a chance to rest. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcus Paes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Jovens Democratas MZC's Marcus Paes in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vítor Lenzi in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flavio Peter saved Batalionul U23 Dorobanti from getting behind. When Jerome Rohrer came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Jovens Democratas MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerome Rohrer couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that Jovens Democratas MZC were the better team. Jovens Democratas MZC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
