Monitor Huáscar's Ottó Fejes got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Chiquito Rico blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sabahattin Erten having to make a save. Constantino Carabajo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sabahattin Erten read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in United's zone, Chiquito Rico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sabahattin Erten came out of the goal and Chiquito Rico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. United's Zlatan Gigant was substituted for Rolando Bela. A throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game was made by Eusebio Madaleno with Hernan Emmanuel as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Paulo Fallabes was slow to take the kick. During this time Monitor Huáscar's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Monitor Huáscar's Constantino Carabajo to fire away a dangerous shot which Sabahattin Erten despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Chiquito Rico recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sabahattin Erten. Chiquito Rico showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. 82 minutes into the match, United's goal looked a bit too open when Constantino Carabajo came free, but Sabahattin Erten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Chiquito Rico came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Monitor Huáscar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chiquito Rico couldn't finish the play. In the 96th minute, Chiquito Rico made a precise shot to the right of Sabahattin Erten. United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. Although United had been in control for most of the match, Monitor Huáscar still came away with the win.
