The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Andreas Hansen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wally Lawson in the 4th minute of play. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Yulian Kichukov sped through Montesclarense E.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edgard de Almeida. With a little luck, FC Nordsjælland's Andreas Hansen got control of the ball when Paulão Medeiros tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andreas Hansen made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Paulão Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wally Lawson in the 10th minute of play forced FC Nordsjælland's goalkeeper Andreas Hansen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Svenåge Ellefsen kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Montesclarense E.C.'s Ernani Tavares got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andreas Hansen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florian Patrylo, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Wally Lawson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Wally Lawson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andreas Hansen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th match minute, FC Nordsjælland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svenåge Ellefsen to maneuver through the defense. When Ernani Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Montesclarense E.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernani Tavares couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, FC Nordsjælland's Andreas Hansen got control of the ball when Paulão Medeiros tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mads Hansen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Edgard de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Wally Lawson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andreas Hansen. That made the score 3-1 in the 38 minute of play. Wally Lawson hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Andreas Hansen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wally Lawson in the 45th minute of play. After 47 played minutes FC Nordsjælland got a freekick which was hit by Paul Caniggia. FC Nordsjælland's Sindre Walle was substituted for Benjamin Nygren. After a rather tough play, FC Nordsjælland's Paul Caniggia got a free kick in the 48th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sindre Walle was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in FC Nordsjælland's zone, Ernani Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andreas Hansen came out of the goal and Ernani Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 54 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s Wally Lawson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andreas Hansen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 59 minutes, Florian Patrylo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Florian Patrylo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulão Medeiros during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulão Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Paulão Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 played minutes, Montesclarense E.C.'s Ernani Tavares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andreas Hansen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Montesclarense E.C. reached it. Andreas Hansen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Luís Schmidt's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Gonçalo Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Florian Patrylo might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andreas Hansen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florian Patrylo ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee ended the match the Montesclarense E.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
