Robert Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Romero having to interfere. Robert Pires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Faustão Romero having to make a save. In the 11th minute Robert Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustão Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Faustão Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute Robert Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustão Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 played minutes Flamengo FC got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Macedo. Robert Pires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes in the game Francisco Macedo did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Esbjörn Jakobsson. Faustão Romero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robert Pires went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Francisco Macedo's late challenge caught a Blåränderna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Macedo helped the player get up and apologised. 33 minutes into the game, Blåränderna's Tommy Heggert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Pires in the 36th minute of play forced Flamengo FC's goalkeeper Faustão Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robert Pires made a kick off. Alaaddin Heidemann kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. With his leg Faustão Romero managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Blåränderna's Robert Pires fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Flamengo FC's Faustão Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Pires in the 59th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nigel Winterburn during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 minutes of play, Blåränderna's Robert Pires made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Faustão Romero was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert Pires in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faustão Romero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Robert Pires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Faustão Romero having to make a save. Robert Pires struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Faustão Romero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blåränderna. When Paulino Sacristán came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Flamengo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Sacristán couldn't finish the play. Blåränderna made a substitution. Tor Edberg replaced Robert Pires. Faustão Romero made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Tor Edberg sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Tor Edberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Faustão Romero was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Flamengo FC's Faustão Romero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Flamengo FC from getting a goal against them. In the 87th minute, Tor Edberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Faustão Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tor Edberg in the 94th minute of play. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Tor Edberg sped through Flamengo FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Faustão Romero. The Blåränderna supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Blåränderna would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
