A very good chance for a goal. 15 minutes into the match, Teachers FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steffen Gimlinge. Teachers FC's Ricardo Zamora proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Teachers FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steffen Gimlinge got free with Ricardo Zamora in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Club Universidad Nacional's attentive Ziyäddin Cabbarov managed to snatch the ball when Ricardo Mafra made a throw-in in the 30th minute of the game. In the 47th match minute, Teachers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidiu Negara to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Baião was the one to do the kick off.
