Tiberiu Caramarin started the match with the kick off. If Alto Gøl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calistrat Madgearu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alto Gøl in the 10th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Alto Gøl kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Calistrat Madgearu. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Ivan Vâtcă threw the ball into play from the sideline. Ballet Azul's Korneliusz Miodek quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Alto Gøl received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Calistrat Madgearu came out and tried to block the shot, but Alto Gøl slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 17th minute. Gino Tonić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 23rd minute of the match. Calistrat Madgearu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alto Gøl showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 27 minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Ballet Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Mihăiţă Ilarie came free, but Gino Tonić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alto Gøl had several of the MIT Craiova's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Calistrat Madgearu as he didn't even see the shot coming. Calistrat Madgearu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alto Gøl in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute, Tiberiu Caramarin made a precise shot to the right of Gino Tonić. Ballet Azul's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. 47 minutes into the game, Tiberiu Caramarin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Gino Tonić was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-2 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alto Gøl to make the kick off. Ballet Azul's Eulalio Callejas was substituted for Oğuzhan Öksak. The supporters of Ballet Azul booed when MIT Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeo Gherghescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calistrat Madgearu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eulalio Callejas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiberiu Caramarin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Tonić having to interfere. In the 66th minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gino Tonić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calistrat Madgearu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eladio Ulloa, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Gino Tonić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 71st minute of play. Pepe Rojas hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. MIT Craiova's David Tunander was substituted for Dorin Banu. In the 75th match minute, Ballet Azul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pepe Rojas to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the match, MIT Craiova's David Tunander sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gino Tonić narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gino Tonić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. With a little luck, Ballet Azul's Gino Tonić got control of the ball when Nicodim Orășan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eulalio Callejas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calistrat Madgearu having to interfere. MIT Craiova's Fabian Geantă was substituted for Mihăiţă Ilarie. MIT Craiova's Bogdan Bucataru was substituted for Florin Seremet. 89 minutes into the game, Alto Gøl cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-2. Calistrat Madgearu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Ballet Azul defense, Nicodim Orășan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gino Tonić. The Ballet Azul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gino Tonić should have stopped the shot.
