Ignat Pantov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zhuo Xuan Yu having to make a save. 7 minutes into the game, Rickard Erserman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Raimundo Coimbra. Rickard Erserman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The supporters of Inter de Chillán booed when Sport Lisboa e Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Severiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zhuo Xuan Yu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignat Pantov in the 23rd minute of play. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Raimundo Coimbra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Sport Lisboa e Benfica from getting a goal against them. Raimundo Coimbra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rickard Erserman's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. The supporters of Inter de Chillán booed when Sport Lisboa e Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geraldo Rios didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Raimundo Coimbra successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 44 played minutes Sport Lisboa e Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Haimo Kettner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rickard Erserman got free with Raimundo Coimbra in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ignat Pantov to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Raimundo Coimbra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. It was a well-played corner which Rimas Ciparis managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Eladio Araujo sped through Sport Lisboa e Benfica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Raimundo Coimbra. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eladio Araujo in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raimundo Coimbra saved Sport Lisboa e Benfica from getting behind. Ignat Pantov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Zhuo Xuan Yu made a huge save. 83 minutes into the game, Inter de Chillán's Eladio Araujo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raimundo Coimbra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Nicolas Portugal was substituted for Ignat Pantov. In the 95th minute of the match Inter de Chillán got a corner. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tobías Izamit ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Inter de Chillán's corner Tobías Izamit fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Raimundo Coimbra quite easily take care of the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Inter de Chillán had played much better football throughout.
