After some careless play in the ForestFire defense, Mergildo Fuente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shaki Conn. The ForestFire fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shaki Conn should have stopped the shot. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind FCSB CUENCA's goalkeeper 史默晨, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. ForestFire's Shaki Conn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Santikurtz in the 31st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in ForestFire's zone, Zhu Feng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shaki Conn came out of the goal and Zhu Feng tried to chip the ball over his head. ForestFire's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zhu Feng ran over to the corner to take the kick. Shaki Conn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mergildo Fuente in the 40th minute of play. After 41 played minutes ForestFire got a freekick which was hit by Stan Sanford. João Francisco Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Shaki Conn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucas Navarro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but 史默晨 made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matias Santikurtz in the 46th minute of play forced ForestFire's goalkeeper Shaki Conn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matias Santikurtz made a kick off.
