Stiinta-Univ.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Shi Ming Sheng was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristoforo Brillante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AC Roma's Cristoforo Brillante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valeriu Morovan in the 7th minute of play. The supporters of Stiinta-Univ. booed when AC Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinando Caponera didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shi Ming Sheng in the 20th minute of play forced AC Roma's goalkeeper Cristoforo Brillante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shi Ming Sheng in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristoforo Brillante prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Martin Crețu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Della Francesca, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Cristoforo Brillante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomasz Gacek in the 28th minute of the match. Alvaro Sforza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Martin Crețu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Sforza in the 34th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Sforza in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Crețu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Martin Crețu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Sforza in the 44th minute of play. AC Roma's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alvaro Sforza in the 45th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Martin Crețu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvaro Sforza. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Stiinta-Univ.'s Muhammet Altın was substituted for Șerban Rușanu. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shi Ming Sheng was the one to do the kick off. 61 minutes into the game, AC Roma's Alvaro Sforza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Martin Crețu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Cristoforo Brillante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valeriu Morovan, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. A throw-in in the 71st minute of the game was made by Richard Askelöf with Alvaro Sforza as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 79 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goal looked a bit too open when Javier Della Francesca came free, but Martin Crețu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 82 minutes, Shi Ming Sheng managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stiinta-Univ.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Shi Ming Sheng was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Muhammet Altın kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Alvaro Sforza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Sforza came free, but Martin Crețu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, AC Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Sforza to maneuver through the defense. Alvaro Sforza took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martin Crețu. Martin Crețu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. When the referee blew the final whistle, AC Roma could leave the field as winners, despite Stiinta-Univ. having more of the ball for most of the match.
