In the 3rd minute, Academia Monte Gordo's Christian Westerstrand ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Reynaldo Cestarolli. Reynaldo Cestarolli yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Mao Zhen Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelbassir Cestarolli in the 6th minute of play. After 7 minutes Academia Monte Gordo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jefferson de Mendonça who took care of the corner kick. Mao Zhen Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelbassir Cestarolli in the 10th minute of play. Fabrício Lustosa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Reynaldo Cestarolli firmly grabbed it by the left post. 20 minutes into the match, Cestarolli FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arana Ponta came free, but Reynaldo Cestarolli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Luizão Cestarolli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reynaldo Cestarolli was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Christian Westerstrand capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Christian Westerstrand really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. 26 minutes into the match, Abdelbassir Cestarolli notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong. Mao Zhen Hong was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 29 minutes into the game, Cestarolli FC's Abdelbassir Cestarolli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mao Zhen Hong made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Reynaldo Cestarolli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrício Lustosa in the 32nd minute of play. Reynaldo Cestarolli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arana Ponta in the 35th minute of play. After 42 played minutes Academia Monte Gordo got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Silva. Abdelbassir Cestarolli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Westerstrand made a kick off. Primitivo Cayuela kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Academia Monte Gordo's Boruc Brysz got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arana Ponta in the 56th minute of play forced Cestarolli FC's goalkeeper Reynaldo Cestarolli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Academia Monte Gordo's Fabrício Lustosa in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cestarolli FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 60th minute Fabrício Lustosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Cestarolli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdelbassir Cestarolli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdelbassir Cestarolli in the 61st minute of play. Reynaldo Cestarolli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrício Lustosa in the 62nd minute of the match. Abdelbassir Cestarolli might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mao Zhen Hong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abdelbassir Cestarolli ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdelbassir Cestarolli in the 67th minute of play forced Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Fabrício Lustosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Cestarolli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Abdelbassir Cestarolli came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Cestarolli FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abdelbassir Cestarolli couldn't finish the play. Academia Monte Gordo made a substitution. Zé Paulo Afonso replaced Luciano Tiso. Academia Monte Gordo's Adélio Infante was substituted for Christian Westerstrand. In the 79th minute Adélio Infante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Cestarolli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Silva got a throw-in 81 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Adérito Abreu. A nice corner shot did that Codrin Zamfira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Reynaldo Cestarolli quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 89th minute Arana Ponta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Cestarolli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynaldo Cestarolli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arana Ponta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Academia Monte Gordo players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
