After a defensive mix-up in Internacional Pechofrío's zone, Nicolas Roland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joonatan Schols came out of the goal and Nicolas Roland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicolas Roland might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joonatan Schols. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolas Roland ran back to his position shaking his head. Joonatan Schols showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Roland in the 23rd minute of the match. If Nicolas Roland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Efraim in the 37th minute of play forced Internacional Pechofrío's goalkeeper Joonatan Schols to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Donato Efraim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joonatan Schols. Internacional Pechofrío's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donato Efraim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Nicolas Roland charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicolas Roland the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Internacional Pechofrío booed when Vélez Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Roland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benigno Gurutz got a throw-in 45 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Donato Efraim. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Su Qian Cheng stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 88th minute, Su Qian Cheng ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elpidio Vitin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-5. A collision led to Internacional Pechofrío getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Caio Paraense hit a great ball. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caio Paraense in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vélez Juniors had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
