Izydor Wolnik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mohamed Basso's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for MS Rybnik! When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, José Augusto Rosa put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Thomás Toscano. Hicham Al Azka hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. José Augusto Rosa struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Thomás Toscano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MS Rybnik. Izydor Wolnik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hicham Al Azka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomás Toscano made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when José Augusto Rosa sent off a good shot on target. If José Augusto Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 38 minutes into the match, MS Rybnik's goal looked a bit too open when Mohamed Basso came free, but Izydor Wolnik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mohamed Basso scored 1-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Izydor Wolnik, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Capibaribe Stars were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when José Augusto Rosa made the kick off in the second half. Thomás Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Augusto Rosa in the 53rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Capibaribe Stars's Albino Gaskon got a free kick in the 60th minute. Capibaribe Stars's Mohamed Basso got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. MS Rybnik's Evaristo Fernandez was substituted for José Augusto Rosa. MS Rybnik made a substitution. Jacek Skorny replaced Norberto Enmanuel. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cyprian Pracki during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 88th minute, one of MS Rybnik:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for MS Rybnik. When the match had been going on for 89 minutes, Capibaribe Stars's Klement Cieslak got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Izydor Wolnik. In the 96th minute, Roman Kicia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Capibaribe Stars supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Capibaribe Stars would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
