Brugge United's Sandro Gaúcho was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Matvey Epanchin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guido Vissenaeken in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matvey Epanchin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 29 minutes into the match, Dynamite's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Vissenaeken came free, but Matvey Epanchin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Guido Vissenaeken left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brugge United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Guido Vissenaeken's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matvey Epanchin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Matvey Epanchin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 54th minute. Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efim Abramov in the 61st minute of the match. With his leg Matvey Epanchin managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Brugge United's Arnauld Van Impe fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Arnauld Van Impe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Matvey Epanchin made a huge save. In the 74th minute of the match Brugge United got a corner. Dynamite's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Waud Huijbrechts ran over to the corner to take the kick. Brugge United's Vítor Baia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evgeniy Kobeko in the 81st minute of play. Matvey Epanchin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 82nd minute. After a rather tough play, Brugge United's Dacian Hrean got a free kick in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Arnauld Van Impe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brugge United's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnauld Van Impe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matvey Epanchin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matvey Epanchin was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Arnauld Van Impe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arnauld Van Impe really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laurențiu Roşculeţ during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Brugge United's Laurențiu Roşculeţ got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Brugge United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brugge United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
